Flam's Lombards
Rue des Lombards is a small historic street in the district of Les Halles straddling the 1st and 4th district of Paris, a few steps from the Fountain of the Innocents and the rue de Rivoli. In this street, at No. 61 is our restaurant. The first impact is of a traditional restaurant but do be fooled by appearances! Be curious and enter ... come and discover the basement with it's 2 beautiful vaults full of stories.
In the 13th century, an underground chapel was built in this medieval cellar, by order of the Knights Templar, with the aim of making it a site of trade and commercial exchanges. The story is that it would have served as a temporary hiding place to Ravaillac before he was arrested and a gathering place for secret masses of the clergy during the Revolution. Since then, the cellar has hosted an underground jazz club - it's a magical place both visually and acoustically.
